Evaluating the Success of the SRB
When children are referred through the speech therapist, their individual strengths and areas for development are shared with parents, staff in the SRB and staff in the home school. This information is used as the basis to planning teaching and learning because it is for these reasons, pupils are attending. If we are meeting these needs, the SRB is effective.
When pupils first join our SRB, staff complete an intelligibility scale. This shows how clearly others can understand individual pupils. This intelligibility is assessed termly and again when pupils are ready to leave the SRB. This is the clearest way to show the impact of the specialist resource base.

Di Bouskill is our link governor. She is responsible for making sure the SRB is effective and is an integral part of the whole school. Di regularly visits the SRB and talks to staff and pupils about their experiences. Di then reports back to the whole governing body.
