PE and Sports Events 2022/23
Sports Update July 2023
This year has been a busy one, with competitions returning to the levels we had before the interruption of covid. There have been opportunities for children from Year one to year 6 to take part in sports competitions and festivals.
Key Stage One children were able to participate in one of three active kids festivals held at Lynnsport. These sessions are aimed at increasing participation of children in activities and sports to encourage healthy lifestyles.
Year 3 and 4 have attended hockey, netball, and tennis events, all held at Lynnsport. Hockey was a chance for children to increase their understanding of the game and learn new skills in a non-competitive environment of a festival. Tennis and netball were competitive and the children all managed to improve their games whilst competing.
Year 5 and 6 took part in a tag rugby festival (held at West Norfolk Rugby Club), which although was not a scoring event, managed to win the majority of their games. Their teamwork in the games was a credit to them. This year group also had opportunities in football and cricket, both girls and boys and quadkids athletics in which five girls and five boys competed as a team of ten to gain points. On the day, they finished fourth out of ten teams.
Our club provision has been extensive again this year, with clubs being run by Kings Lynn Community Football. We have been able to offer clubs to children from year 1 to year 6. The sports we have offered are: hockey, rugby, multi-sports, archery, tchouk ball, netball, cricket and multi-skills.
